Minnesota Man Receives Long Prison Term For Child Porn Conviction
St Paul (KROC AM News) - A registered sex offender from the Twin Cities has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for his latest conviction.
This time around, 37-year-old Robert Stace was prosecuted in federal court.
A judge sentenced the Golden Valley man Monday to 270 months for his child porn conviction.
He was accused of downloading hundreds of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of minors. Prosecutors say Stace downloaded the child porn “from the computer lab of a community center while on supervised release for his prior child sexual exploitation convictions. “
The violation of his release order landed him back in a state prison where he will be through the end of the month and then turned over to the feds.
Court records show Stace was earlier sentenced to state prisons twice. He was given a 144-month sentence for a 2002 case involving a 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct conviction. He was sentenced in 2017 to 45 months in prison for a child porn conviction. He was also placed on supervised release for 10 years after he got out of prison.
