The CDC says, "COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact (within about 6 feet) for a prolonged period." and recommends social distancing to slow the spread, "since people can spread the virus before they know they are sick, it is important to stay at least 6 feet away from others when possible, even if you—or they—do not have any symptoms."

Social distancing in a crowded school will be a challenge and extremely difficult in Minnesota which has the 6th most crowded classrooms in the country according to a new report from Zippia.

They say their data "provides a good big picture look, but it doesn’t speak to the unique challenges each school and district will face in returning to class."

Utah has the most crowded classrooms in the country with an average class size of 26.6 students. California, Michigan, Nevada, and Oregon rounded out the top 5. Minnesota was 6th. The average class size in Minnesota is 25 students. Read the full report here.
