If you’re planning on hitting the road a lot this summer, there are a lot of things you have to watch out for: bad drivers, drunk drivers, stray animals, and my favorite – deer. But there’s another thing that could put you and your car at risk this summer, and it’s definitely not the first thing that would come to mind for me!

Seriously.

This is apparently the time of the year when mating turkeys are on the move, and they’re not shy from making appearances on our roads. Turkeys can even be large enough to pierce your windshield, too - which did in fact happen to one Minnesota driver. Who knew something so delicious can also be fairly dangerous?

So yeah, if you ever see a turkey on the road, the best thing to do is slow down. Pretty much the opposite of what I do when I see a turkey on my kitchen table.
