Minnesota COVID ICU Usage Lowest Since Mid October
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota's COVID-19 hospitalization rates continue to move in a positive direction.
The latest statistics reported by the state indicate 135 Minnesotans ill with the new virus are currently being treated in intensive care units throughout the state. That is the lowest that number has been since the middle of October. The overall number of Minnesotans hospitalized due to COVID now stands at 787, marking the first time that figure has been under 800 since the start of November.
The Minnesota Department of Health today reported 44 additional coronavirus-related deaths statewide. The listed included a Goodhue County resident in their late 60s. Just over 2000 new COVID-19 cases were reported today, including 68 new infections in Olmsted County. The testing total was around 34,800 and the daily testing positivity rate was about 5.7 percent.
