Have you seen notifications from your friends playing this new word game that's going viral? You're not alone here in Minnesota!

You can't accuse Minnesotans of being late to the party when it comes to downloading, playing, and sharing their scores in the new viral word game, Wordle. Even if you haven't played the game yourself, you've probably seen friends post their Wordle scores on their socials, right?

Well, it turns out there's a reason you're seeing a LOT of those Wordle scores here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. And that's because according to the results of this new online survey, Minnesota is the number-one 'Wordle' state in the country.

The number-crunchers over at education resource site schoolauthority.org looked at geotagged Twitter data in the last month, tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases about the viral game, as well as individual Wordle results that are shared. (For example #Wordle, #DailyWordleClub, #DailyWordleChallenge, etc.)

The crew tracked over two million tweets and found that the state with the most Wordle activity was none other than the North Star State. Right behind us were the folks over in my home state of Wisconsin, which ranked as the second 'Wordle' state.

Utah, Iowa and Washington rounded out the top five states where Wordle received the most online mentions. If you check out the entire map below, it appears that there is a clear regional component, with the game being most popular in the upper Midwest, and the least popular in the southern states.

So chalk up another thing Minnesota in which is number-one! Of course, you don't have to be a Minnesotan to play Wordle. But you DO have to be a Minnesotan to say any of the following phrases-- because they're the phrases you'll only hear here. Keep scrolling to check 'em out!
