
(UPDATE) Police ID Man Killed by Train in Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man was killed Friday morning after being hit by a train in Rochester.
Police say 58-year-old Ricky Thalacker of Rochester was in a mobility scooter at the time, trying to cross the tracks on the north side of the Civic Center Dr/1st Ave NW intersection around 7:45 AM.
Police say witnesses told officers the crossing gates were down and the flashing signals were operational at the time the accident occurred.
The sections of North Broadway and 1st Avenue Northwest that were closed to traffic following the deadly incident were finally reopened around 1:20 this afternoon.
