Man Accused Of Sex-Related Cyberstalking Of Young Minnesota Woman
St Paul (KROC AM News) - The law has caught up with a man who turned a Minnesota college student’s life into a nightmare.
The US Attorney’s Office in St. Paul has filed a criminal complaint against 27-year-old Ki Cheung Yau, who is described as “a Chinese national living in Los Angeles.” He is accused of “harassing and cyberstalking “ the woman since January 2020.
Prosecutors say Yau set up numerous online accounts in the name of the woman that included her identity, photographs, and other personal information. He then used the accounts to pose as the victim and seek sexual relationships.
Numerous men responded including one who actually showed up at the woman’s home twice, asking for her by name.
Prosecutors say the woman “was forced to move to a new residence and change her phone number.”
Yau is currently being held in California and will be transferred to Minnesota to face prosecution.
