Last Call For Tilly’s Bar and Grill in Oronoco?
I made an offer to purchase the property, but unfortunately, it was declined. It does sadden me to walk away.
Rent prices and higher property taxes are the reason why a popular bar and restaurant just north of Rochester will either be closing or will have new ownership soon. The news was posted to the business's Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon. Read the full statement below.
Tilly's Bar and Grill is located in Oronoco. The establishment would often serve as our final stop on the way home from a Twins game. I've enjoyed drinks, food, and even meat raffles at the bar and am saddened to see the future is in jeopardy.
Tilly's Bar and Grill Ownership Update:
On Tuesday morning, Tammy Dee posted an update on social media.
Dee said she has decided to walk away when her lease comes up on December 31st. She explained the decision was made because "of the increase in rent & property taxes w/ the new lease."
Dee did try to keep the business open.
"I made an offer to purchase the property, but unfortunately, it was declined. It does sadden me to walk away. I love Tillys, my staff & patrons so much."
In the Facebook post, she thanked her staff and customers, "I’ve been pretty emotional w/ this decision, crying on and off, but I want to make the most of these last few months also with you all! I’ve worked here since 2001. Took over in 2018. I cannot thank you all enough!! My staff & customers are the best."
