
Jail and Probation for Purse Snatching
Rochester,MN (KROC AM News) - One of the three people charged in a high-profile purse snatching case was sentenced Monday to 20 days in jail and 10 years on probation. 18-year-old Abdirisak Aden Affey was accused of serving as the getaway driver after a 52-year-old woman was thrown to the floor and robbed of her purse inside Apache Mall in March. Police say the purse contained $14,000 dollars worth of jewelry and $1000 cash.
Affey, who earlier pleaded guilty to a simple robbery charge, was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community work service.
The cases against the two other defendants are pending.
