Matthew Rutherford, 28 of Zeigler, Illinois was pulled over on a moped, after midnight in a lot of a Shell gas station. The dude has no registration tags displayed, for the moped. He then lied to the officer about who he was, and then took off running. But wait, there's more...

Once the officers captured Mathew and figured out his true identity, they had in their hands a non-compliant sex offender with a pending arrest warrant. But wait, there's more...

Cops noticed a black Nissan Altima that was cruising around the scene, at about the same time...Also with no plates. So, cops pulled the car over as well. Once pulling the car over officers learned that they were with Moped Mathew, and were both working on something together. But wait, there's more...

Fentanyl was found in the car, which led them back to Moped Mathew and they searched his backpack. In the backpack, two pounds of meth.

The charges for both men include:

  • Conspiracy to deliver 400-900 grams of methamphetamine
  • Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia,
  • Open title on a vehicle
  • Operating a vehicle without evidence of registration 
  • Operating an uninsured vehicle
