Valleyfair has been one of Minnesota's top attractions for nearly 50 years and it just announced that tickets to its popular ValleyScare are now available.

Minnesota's lone amusement park has been standing tall along Highway 169 in Shakopee since opening back in 1976. The park features more than 75 rides including eight roller coasters, Planet Snoopy featuring 15 children’s rides, and is home to Soak City, a seven-acre water park filled with slides, a wave pool, lazy river, and children’s water features.

Earlier this summer, Valleyfair announced that it had new owners, as a merger deal between Cedar Fair and Six Flags had officially closed. That means that Valleyfair is now part of the new Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, and is now among what a release called 'the largest and most diverse amusement park operator in North America,' with a total new combined portfolio of 42 parks across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Before that merger announcement on July 1st, the Valleyfair campus in Shakopee was affected by rising flood waters from the Minnesota River and was forced to close several rides as well as part of their parking area. Check out what things looked like in late June (and, no, that's NOT a water ride!)

Those flood waters receded and things got back to normal in July. Shortly after, Valleyfair said its popular Corn Fest would return again this year, officially kicking off on Saturday, August 17th, and running through Labor Day, September 4th, 2024.

And now, Valleyfair just announced that tickets to its Halloween event, ValleyScare, are now on sale. According to a release, ValleyScare is Minnesota’s largest Halloween event, including an expanded lineup of thrills and chills to welcome in fall.

ValleyScare will be a separately ticketed event, a release said, featuring six immersive haunted mazes including the all-new, state-of-the-scare Cryptid Land, three frightening scare zones, and tons of eerie entertainment. All attractions include terrifying enhancements to storylines, animatronics, special effects, and environmental elements, Valleyfair noted.
