If you have little ones at home, you already know the constant struggle that is finding new ways to burn off energy once the chilly Minnesota weather sets in. Well, I’ve got some seriously exciting news for your local outing list!

A brand-new indoor playground is officially heading to Rochester and opening soon in Apache Mall. From everything we know so far, it’s going to be a total game-changer for local families.

Meet Kidstruction Indoor Playground:

This new locally owned spot is taking over the former H&M space in the mall. And at roughly 16,000 square feet, we aren't just talking about a couple of plastic slides and a tiny ball pit - this place is massive!

As the name suggests, the entire playground will feature an interactive construction theme. It’s specifically designed for kids ages 2 to 12, with a special soft-play focus for toddlers and younger kiddos.

What to Expect Inside:

While the owners are keeping a few fun surprises under hard hats until opening day, here is a quick look at what’s in store:

  • A Massive Main Play Structure: Plenty of climbing, exploring, and sliding to keep the bigger kids busy.

  • Dedicated Toddler Area: A safe, gated space designed specifically for smaller hands and little feet.

  • Interactive & Physical Challenges: Games and hands-on activities that double as workout time.

  • Imaginative Construction Play: Let them build, stack, and dig to their heart's content without tearing up your living room.

Opening Just in Time for Cabin Fever Season:

The goal behind Kidstruction is to create a clean, fun, year-round space where families can play together, host birthday parties, and escape the frozen tundra when Minnesota winter inevitably rolls in.

Right now, the owners are eyeing an opening window of sometime in November or December, aka peak "it's too cold to play outside, what are we going to do today?" season.

I don't know about you, but I'm already predicting this is going to become the go-to birthday party destination in Rochester this winter. Keep an eye out for more sneak peeks over the next few months.

We'll be sure to share updates as soon as official opening dates and more details drop!
