11 Road-Trip Worthy Thrift Stores Near Rochester

I love thrifting.

Like, they all know me by name, kind of love of thrifting. At least at all the local spots.

I make the rounds in Rochester pretty regularly, but every once in a while, you just want something different. A new treasure hunt. A store you've never stepped foot in before. The chance to find something amazing that nobody else has snagged yet.

In fact, I've reached the point where I want to start planning vacations around good thrift stores. I haven't actually done it yet, but my friend and I have definitely talked about it. More than once.

We already make occasional road trips to the Cities to hit up the Goodwill Outlet, aka the Bins. And let me tell you, if you've never experienced the bins before, just know it's equal parts treasure hunt, competition, and chaos. It's a wild experience.

That got me wondering: what other thrift stores are worth the drive from Rochester?

Instead, I focused on thrift stores, resale shops, vintage stores, and hidden gems in Minnesota, and a few in Wisconsin, that are close enough for a day trip.

I haven't made it to these spots yet, but a few of them are officially on my summer bucket list. Honestly, the idea of grabbing an iced coffee, cranking up a good playlist, and hitting the road in search of hidden treasures sounds like a pretty perfect day.
