Summer is officially here, the temperatures are climbing, and if you’re anything like me, you are currently looking for every single excuse to spend your days out on the water.

There are plenty of ways to cool off in Minnesota, but tubing has to be one of my favorites. It's affordable, requires very little effort (which I fully support), and there really isn't much better than floating down a river with a cold drink, good friends, and nowhere you have to be.

Now, every one of those rivers is worth the trip. But only one of them managed to snag a spot on USA TODAY’s national list of the very best tubing rivers in the entire country.

Can you guess which one it is?

Our very own Root River in Lanesboro has officially been recognized as one of the absolute best destinations for a river float in America... again!

The coolest part? These rankings aren't just picked by a random corporate board - a panel of travel experts nominates the spots, and then readers vote for their favorites

If you've ever floated the Root River, this probably doesn't come as much of a surprise.

It is drop-dead gorgeous. You're surrounded by those stunning limestone bluffs, the current is calm and relaxing, the scenery is unmatched, you'll almost definitely spot some wildlife (hello, bald eagles flying right overhead! — literally my fave).

Not to mention, the outfitters make the entire logistics side of the day ridiculously easy. Whether you want a quick two-hour escape or an all-day, pack-a-cooler adventure, they have a route mapped out for you.

The best part? You don't have to drive across the country to experience one of America's favorite tubing destinations. It's only about an hour from Rochester.
