New Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse Coming Soon To Minnesota

National Restaurant News recently showcased the top chain restaurants in the U.S., with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse taking the top spot.

As of now, you'll only find one Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Minnesota, located at 920 2nd Ave S Suite 100 in Minneapolis. However, another location is opening soon. This new 7,800-square-foot restaurant will offer outdoor seating, a full bar, and a private dining area.

Why Is Ruth's Chris The #1 Chain Restaurant?

According to the food website, Eat This Not That!, customers love the "Ruth's Chris experience but aren't as happy with the prices." The Steakhouse received high scores in the consumer survey for service and hospitality.

The restaurant proudly says that its chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff are recognized among the finest worldwide, and its "front-of-house" team is trained to deliver dining experiences that consistently exceed expectations.

Why Is It Called Ruth's Chris Steakhouse?

Back in 1965, Ruth Fertel took a massive risk and mortgaged her home to purchase a small restaurant, Chris Steak House, in New Orleans. The self-taught restauranteur grew the business by serving great food and elevating the meaning of hospitality.

Then, in 1976, tragedy struck when a kitchen fire destroyed the restaurant. Ruth was forced to relocate but was told she couldn't keep the business name. So, she made a spur-of-the-moment decision to add her name to the sign, giving birth to "Ruth's Chris Steak House." 

A Second Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is Opening In Minnesota

In June of 2023 Kraus Anderson announced a multi-million dollar project at the Kahler Grand Hotel. At that time, they began demolishing an existing restaurant, the Grand Grill, to make room for the new Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

Javon D. Bea, board representative for Kahler Hospitality Group, said "As downtown Rochester continues to revitalize, Ruth’s Chris Steak House is an exceptional enhancement for the city and for the newly renovated Kahler Grand Hotel."

The new Ruth's Chris in downtown Rochester is almost finished, and it won't be long before they open their doors. According to their team, they're targeting June 17th as the big day.
