If you thought you had to drive all the way to Yellowstone to see bison, I'm sorry to call you out this way but you are WRONG!  In fact, a new calf was born in Southeast Minnesota.  And I've got some good news, mom and new baby are now ready for visitors.

New Baby Bison Born in Southeast Minnesota Not Far From Rochester, Minnesota

One of my kids' favorite places to go for adventures is Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo.  We spent so many summer days visiting the animals, having picnics in the park, and hiking through the woods.  It was fun for me too because some of my kids had a LOT of energy that they needed to expel before bedtime each day.  It's super close to Rochester, Minnesota and now that there is a new nature center, it is even more exciting!

If you haven't planned out your summer activities yet, you'll want to add Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo to the list because they just posted the message below on their Facebook page:

Check it out! We have a new addition to the bison herd! Our first calf arrived late last week and we have hopes for more. Come visit them!

Yes, they have a baby bison!  Ok, I know it is called a calf but baby bison just sounds adorable.

Check Out The Outdoor Classroom When You Visit Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo

My family stumbled upon an area at Oxbow Park that is like a hidden treasure.  I didn't even know this place existed but I'm so glad we took the time to explore a bit.  Next time you go to see the animals at Zollman Zoo, take a few minutes to explore the Outdoor Classroom.  It is right next to the nature center and parking lot and is full of fun for kids...and adults.

Outdoor Classroom Fun in Byron, Minnesota

If you've got kids, I highly recommend heading out to let your little ones explore the outdoor classroom that is right next to the parking lot by Zollman Zoo in Byron, Minnesota. It is A-Maz-Ing! Tunnels, musical instruments, planets that you have to find, and even a teeter-totter made out of a log is there to enjoy. Probably one of my favorites though is what I call "Little Bean". I snapped a selfie with it and a few photos to give you a glimpse at the exhibits. Check those out below...
