Registration Now Open for NAMIWalks Event in Rochester, MN
If you know someone who struggles with mental health, or you have days when the anxiety takes over or depression kicks in, you aren't alone. One in four adults in America experiences at least one episode of mental illness each year. But adults aren't the only ones that are feeling the impact as serious mental disorders are also felt by four million children and adolescents in the United States. But one organization in Southeast Minnesota is here with resources and to help.
Who is NAMI Southeast Minnesota?
NAMI Southeast Minnesota improves mental wellness through listening, advocating, informing and leading. - namisemn.org
The team at NAMI is here to help. They advocate at the county, state, and national levels to ensure equal access to quality healthcare, housing, education, and employment for individuals with mental illness. Their goals are to:
- Raise public awareness about mental health issues.
- Fight to break the stigma surrounding mental illness.
- Push for increased funding for research into the causes and treatments of mental illness.
To help reach these goals, NAMI Southeast Minnesota invites the community to join them at their upcoming NAMIWalks event in Rochester, Minnesota.
