An Iconic Restaurant in SE Minnesota Ready for New Owners
If you haven't heard by now, an iconic restaurant in Southeast Minnesota is for sale. I know, it's breaking my heart too. This is a place many of us know because of the giant pig on top. Some of us even know of the place because a movie scene was shot there. Others know it well because it has the classic diner breakfast that is hard to find nowadays. Many know it because it is their place and the owners even know their name. Yes, the one and only Cheap Charlie's in Rochester, Minnesota is for sale.
Is It True That Cheap Charlie's in Rochester, Minnesota Is Closing?
What IS true is that the building is for sale. The owners are looking for the new person to take over the iconic Cheap Charlie's that the Med City has known since the mid-1960s. This restaurant had a different name for about a decade before that as well. But the current owners, Janna and David Tran, have made the decision to retire. Their hope is that whoever buys the building will also continue the tradition of Cheap Charlie's. If not, the owners indicated to the Post Bulletin that their plan would be to move the iconic restaurant to a new spot.
