EA Therapeutic Health Hosts Powerful New Event

Every single year in the United States, there are over 300 million individual physical therapy visits.  About 23 years ago, I lost the strength to walk upstairs and was in chronic pain.  My sacroiliac joint was wrecked.  When I met my physical therapist for the first time, he was very blunt - I could either have both of my hips replaced or do physical therapy for about a year in order to be pain-free.  I chose the work.  Thankfully, my insurance covered my physical therapy, and there was a place in Rochester that could help me.

That isn't the reality for all in our area.  For those who have physical disabilities, access to therapeutic health care isn't just limited, it is life-threatening.

Today, there are about 50,000 kids, youth, adults and seniors with debilitating physical disabilities that live within a 50-minute radius of Rochester, Minnesota.  If you walk into a gym today, not only do we have very few that are open for kids in Rochester, but many don't have adaptable equipment available.  Strength training and cardio are essential to healthy living, but how do you do that when there isn't a place for you to go?

• World Archery Para Champion Lucas Herro, will share his harrowing journey from a proud firefighter/EMT to a person suffering from paraplegia, hooked on prescribed opioids post diving accident, to a world-class para-athlete and motivational speaker empowering others to break barriers and shatter limits.

• Vendor demonstrations on the latest technologies and science available to empower persons with mobility issues to live their most healthy, active and independent life.
• Testimonials from EA Therapeutic Health patients, a live auction, and gourmet catering from Pinnacle Catering and an opportunity to help raise vital support for the EA’s signature Harper Family All Access Program. The program provides individuals with mobility issues who are facing financial hardship or experiencing poverty the vital rehabilitation access, education, and supports they need to regain independence at reduced or no cost.
