Young Dover Man Hurt in Christmas Eve Crashed Dies from His Injuries, Authorities Identify Crash Victim
Dover, MN (KROC-AM News)- The young Dover man who was severely injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred in rural Olmsted County on Christmas Eve has died.
Deputies from the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the crash found the driver, initially described to be a man in his 20’s, had been ejected from the car he was driving. He was taken from the crash scene to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin says the driver died from his injuries on Wednesday morning. He identified the now fatal crash victim as 20-year-old Christian Wolter.
Parkin previously said dispatch received a notification from a crash detection device around 3 a.m. on Dec. 24. Deputies found the vehicle Wolter was driving at the intersection of County roads 30 and 180, which is about 9 miles south of Dover.
Parkin said the damage to the vehicle indicated it had been involved in a rollover crash. The deputies located Wolter about 150 feet from where the vehicle was discovered.
Parkin said the deadly crash remains under investigation and that no further information will be released at this time. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is extending its thoughts and prayers to Wolter’s family and friends.
