Rural Southern Minnesota Home Shot Up, Suspect Sought

Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in southern Minnesota are looking for the suspect or suspects who shot up a rural house Monday evening.

A news release from the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the report of a weapons violation. The call came in shortly after 6:30 p.m. 

The shooting occurred at a residence in the 17,000 block of 67th Ave., which is about eight miles west of Albert Lea. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies reported seeing numerous bullet holes above the home’s living room window and bullet holes in the living room window. 

Deputies also found another bullet hole near a different window on the same side of the home. The bullet holes were on the side of the home that faces the road. 

Two people were in the house at the time of the shooting. They were not hurt and did not have a description of a vehicle or suspect. 

Authorities are describing the investigation as active. Although no arrests have been made, officials say there is no danger to the public and are calling the shooting an isolated incident.
