Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department has issued a Community Notification for a high risk predatory offender who will soon be moving into the city.

The notification indicates 44-year-old Malik Amin Johnson is scheduled to be released from Oak Park Heights Stated Prison on Monday. He will be moving into a housing facility on the Olmsted County Campus in southeast Rochester.

Court records show Johnson was convicted of a felony criminal sexual conduct charge involving a mentally impaired and helpless victim for an incident in 2016. The Level 3 offender was also convicted of a felony charge for an assault on a detention deputy in the Olmsted County Jail in 2017 and was given consecutive sentences totaling just over six years.

He later had additional time added to a sentence after he was convicted of assaulting a correctional officer while he was serving his sentence at the Oak Park State Prison. Under the terms of his sentencing, Johnson will be under supervised release for the next 10 years.
