Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities have identified a Rochester man as the victim of a recent Minneapolis murder.

His death was part of a violent and deadly 24 hours in Minnesota’s largest city. 

From Tuesday to Wednesday at least five lives were taken by homicide, including two children who were killed in the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and Church Wednesday morning.

35-Year-Old Rochester Man Identified as Victim of Fatal Shooting in Downtown Minneapolis

An autopsy released Saturday morning by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identifies the Rochester man killed in Minneapolis as 35-year-old Jermaine Jabaar Typray Barker

He was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, caused by multiple gunshot wounds. 

Minneapolis Police say the murder of the Rochester man happened in the 800 block of Hennepin Ave. 

Investigators determined Barker was standing on a sidewalk with a group of people when the gunman fired on them at close range then fled on foot. The deadly shooting happened at around 2:00 Wednesday morning. 

About 10 minutes after police responded to the downtown shooting, a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound was brought to a hospital. 

As of Saturday morning, no arrest has been announced in the case of Barker’s murder.
