Tense Evening at Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - There was a standoff last night at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center In St. Paul.
A news release says a man arrested following an incident at a St. Paul convenience store yesterday evening barricaded himself inside a police squad car. After arriving at the law enforcement center garage, a loud noise was heard and the officers involved believed it could've been a gunshot.
According to the news release, the officers sought cover and attempted to speak with the uncooperative man inside the police vehicle. Due to concerns that the man might have had a gun, additional officers were called to the scene.
Less lethal tools and drones were deployed by the officers, and the news release says the man was removed from the squad car about an hour and a half after the incident began. The vehicle was then searched and no guns were found.
St. Paul police say the incident remains under investigation.
