Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- An early-morning fire is responsible for displacing 12 living at a historic home in Winona.

That’s according to the Winona Fire Department. Crews responded to the fire around 2:30 Friday morning. 

The fire broke out at the Huff-Lamberton Mansion, which has stood at its spot in the 200 block of Huff St. since 1857. The Winona Fire Department says they called in off-duty firefighters to assist with the fire fight.

Crews contained the fire to a common area near the main entrance. Firefighters had to escort one resident out of the building.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is working to find shelter for the home’s 12 displaced residents. 

A dollar amount of estimated damage was not available as of Friday morning, however officials say the historic home suffered what’s being described as minor fire, smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
