Fulda, MN (MinnesotaNow)- One person is dead and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision at a rural intersection in southwestern Minnesota

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies were dispatched to the report of an accident with injuries shortly after 1:10 Friday afternoon.

One Killed, Three Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash at Cottonwood County Intersection

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Cottonwood County Roads 7 and 13, which is about 30 miles northeast of Worthington. 

A preliminary investigation indicates the semi was traveling south on County Rd. 7 and a Subaru SUV was eastbound on County Rd. 13. The Subaru failed to stop at a stop sign, entered the intersection and collided with the truck. 

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office also says a Buick SUV, that was northbound on County Rd. 7, was struck during the incident. 

Driver Killed in Collision ID'D as 29-Year-Old Minnesota Man

Authorities have identified the driver of the Subaru as 29-year-old Sean Goodman of Slayton. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the semi, identified as 69-year-old James Beeck of Fulda and the Buick SUV driver, 42-year-old Julianne Paplow of Dundee, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. 

A 12-year-old riding with Paplow was also brought to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

A news release issued by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office says the deadly crash is under investigation.
