Update: State Patrol ID's Southern Minnesota Woman Killed in I-90 Crash Near Rochester 

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred this morning just southeast of Rochester.

Semi and Two Other Vehicles Involved

The preliminary crash report on the deadly incident says it occurred just before 9 a.m. on eastbound I-90, just east of the Highway 52 interchange in Marion Township. The State Patrol says the victim was driving an SUV that was traveling west on the freeway when an eastbound semi-truck sideswiped a car, which then collided with the SUV.

Victim Was From South-Central Minnesota

The victim was a 72-year-old woman from St. James. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the car was identified as 46-year-old Alex Whiteis of Austin. He and his passenger, 18-year-old Reese Whiteis of Austin, were not injured.

Wisconsin Man Driving Truck

The State Patrol says the truck driver also was not hurt. He has been identified as 43-year-old Lewis Plaskey of Loyal, Wisconsin.

The crash report indicates the occupants of the car and the driver of the semi-truck were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not involved.
