Rochester Man Convicted in 700K Fentanyl Pill Bust Wanted for Escaping Custody
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man who was sentenced for his conviction in a large fentanyl pill bust is now the subject of an active arrest warrant.

The warrant was filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. He was not in custody as of Tuesday night, according to Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records.
26-year-old Seila Abdurahman Ibrahim was sentenced to a year in jail and given a stayed 78-month prison sentence for a first-degree drug possession conviction. The sentence was a downward departure from state sentencing guidelines.
Ibrahim and another man were stopped in a vehicle on Hwy. 52 in Rochester two years ago as part of a narcotics investigation.

The charges state that a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a package of fentanyl weighing more than 1.6 pounds and containing more than 7,000 fentanyl pills.
Another package found in the vehicle contained a brick of cocaine weighing more than half a pound, according to the criminal complaint.
Rochester Man Charged with Escape from Custody After Failing to Return to Jail from Work
Ibrahim reported to the Olmsted County Jail to begin serving his sentence on July 22. He was granted work-release privileges, according to court records.
On July 25, Ibrahim contacted jail staff indicating he was not feeling well and would not return to the jail from work at his mandated 8:30 p.m. return time.
The new complaint against him says he told jail staff that he was heading to the Emergency Department at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Staff contacted St. Mary’s and Olmsted Medical Center at 3:50 the next morning and were told by both healthcare providers that Ibrahim was not a patient, the warrant says.
Ibrahim is charged by warrant with felony escape from custody.
