Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Motorists are being advised about a detour planned for tomorrow involving the massive Highway 52/I-90 interchange project.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says access to eastbound I-90 from southbound Highway 52 will be closed during the day on Thursday. Southbound Highway 52 will also be closed at the bridge while crews pour the concrete bridge deck on the new eastbound I-90 ramp bridge.

MnDOT says the closure will be in effect from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday. The work will require a one-day detour that will route southbound traffic on Highway 52 to Highway 63 and then onto eastbound I-90 at Stewartville. Motorists needing to travel further south on Highway 52 will exit eastbound I-90 at the Eyota exit and take Olmsted County Road 7 south to where it connects to Highway 52 north of Chatfield.

I-90 will remain open in both directions, and southbound Highway 52 traffic will still be able to use the westbound I-90 ramp at the interchange. Motorists will also be able to exit westbound I-90 to northbound Highway 52.

If the weather forces a delay on Thursday, the work will take place during the day on Friday.
