Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is facing a felony charge for stealing a sandwich.

The criminal complaint filed against 23-year-old Austin James Hall alleges he swiped a sandwich from the deli counter at the Cub Foods store in southeast Rochester last October. The court document says the incident took place a week after Hall had been trespassed from the business for allegedly stealing items.

The charges say a Rochester police officer was dispatched to the store on October 4 and was told that an employee approached Hall after he was seen entering the store and taking the sandwich. The Cub Foods worker then approached Hall then told him to return the sandwich and Hall allegedly responded by telling the employee he had a gun.

According to the criminal complaint, the employee then backed away from Hall who left the store and ran into the woods in Slatterly Park. The court document does not say how or when Hall was apprehended. It also does not identify the type of sandwich that was stolen.

Hall has been charged with second-degree aggravated robbery and is due to make his first court appearance in late April.
