(UPDATED-  The City of Rochester Transit & Parking Department will close the Center Street Ramp for cleaning at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14 and reopen it by 5 a.m. on Monday, June 16. Several alternatives are nearby, including Ramp 6, located at 59 1 Street SE.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- One of the city-owned parking ramps in downtown Rochester is scheduled to close Friday afternoon.

The temporary closure is to allow for routine cleaning and minor repairs, according to a news release issued by the City of Rochester.  

The city’s Transit & Parking Department typically closes one ramp at a time each year for about two days to conduct the work.

The first parking ramp to close for the routine maintenance was the Civic Center Parking ramp. Crews completed the annual cleaning and repairs late last month. 

Center Street Ramp in Downtown Rochester to Close May 10

The Center Street Ramp is the next parking garage scheduled to close for the cleaning. The downtown ramp is scheduled to stop admitting vehicles at 2:00 on Friday afternoon.

Vehicles parked in the ramp before the 2 p.m. closure are required to be out of the parking garage by 6 p.m. on Friday. City officials plan to reopen the Center Street Ramp by 5 a.m. on Monday, May 13. 

Drivers who use the Center Street Ramp are asked to use the city’s other nearby ramps. Holders of monthly parking ramp passes can use the city’s other ramps at no additional charge, officials say.

The Rochester Transit & Parking Department has also announced the rest of the schedule for ramp closures this spring: 

  • May 17 – 19 2nd Street Ramp
  • May 24 – 26 1st Street Ramp
  • May 31 – June 2 3rd Street Ramp           
  • June 7 – 9  Ramp 6
