Byron Man Accused of Lunging at Another Man With a Knife
Oronoco, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Byron man is being held in the Olmsted County jail without bail on charges stemming from an incident involving a knife.
The criminal complaint filed against 25-year-old Brandyn Wade Wolf says Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in Oronoco around 9:15 Saturday night on a report of an assault. They were told Wolf was charging people with a knife.
Started With an Argument
The responding deputy encountered a man who indicated he lived at the residence with his girlfriend and Wolf. He reported that he and Wolf had gotten into an argument concerning Wolf’s treatment of his girlfriend. The argument escalated when Wolf got into his face, and the man pushed him back. The victim told the deputy that Wolf then pulled out a large fixed-blade knife and held it at his hip.
Accused of Lunging at Victim
According to the criminal complaint, Wolf allegedly ran at the victim with the knife and lunged at him twice but stopped short of stabbing him in the torso. The court document says the victim was fearful and had no reason to think Wolf was not going to stab him.
The charges say the victim indicated Wolf then put the knife away and returned to the residence while mumbling.
Self Defense Claim
The criminal complaint says Wolf told the deputy he was acting in self-defense after the victim spit in his face.

He is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and felony terroristic threats.
