We are less than two weeks away from Halloween, and once that is over, we are jumping straight into the holiday season. What would the holidays be without family traditions and, of course, delicious baked goods? One Minnesota man is going to be competing in a holiday baking competition, with the chance to win $50,000. While it sounds straightforward, this baker is anything but that with a background in mixed martial arts. Meet Ben the Baker.

Ben Is Competing On Fox's Next Level Baker

Last week Ben the Baker, aka Ben Neumann, announced that he would be competing in Season 2 of Next Level Baker which is scheduled to air starting on November 19th.

Ben Used To Be A MMA Fighter

Before he was baking pies in White Bear Lake, Ben actually competed professionally in mixed martial arts under the nickname “Ben the Baker,” sometimes offering opponents pie at weigh-ins.

According to Ben's Instagram page as a professional fighter he had an overall record 13-5 and is a Mixed Martial Arts/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor at the Warrior's Cove in Little Canada, MN.

What Is Next Level Baker?

Next Level Baker is a holiday-themed baking competition hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. It's actually a spinoff of Next Level Chef, which brings together professional bakers, home bakers and social-media baking personalities to compete in festive baking challenges.

The winner will walk away with $50,000 and a HexClad cookware prize package.

The show is expected to run 5 weeks, meaning that the winner will be crowned a week before Christmas.
