What’s Going On With The Minnesota Governor’s Mansion?

KARE-11 in the Twin Cities had a story last night that blew my mind a little bit. Someone or a group of individuals made their way onto the roof of the Governor's residence on Summit Ave in St. Paul and spray-painted a two-word message for all to see. The real question is how long has that message been up there?

KARE-11 reported last night that staff at the residence, which is currently undergoing maintenance/rehabilitation work, weren't sure how long the message, 'WALZ FAILED,' had been spray painted on top of the roof air conditioner.

The Governor and his family are not currently living in the home as it's being worked on, instead, the Governor and his family are living in the U of M's Eastcliff mansion.

Once I saw the graffiti message on top of the residence, I had to see if Google Maps may have caught the message as the online map gets updated satellite images regularly.

Here's what I found, and it appears to me that perhaps the folks at Google or the Governor's residence have known it's been up there for a little bit of time, as it looks like a white rectangle has been dropped on a portion of the AC unit.

Looking at the KARE-11 pic and the one from Google Maps, I can see the AC unit has a side piece that juts out at an angle, but I don't think that is what I'm seeing. But, maybe...all I am saying is that to me that part of the roof just seems edited in some way.
