Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minneapolis police responded to a mass shooting event that left 9 people wounded early today.

Shooting Outside Minneapolis Event Center

A news release says the shooting occurred outside the Reign Event Center shortly before 12:30 a.m. The event center is located on Hennepin Avenue in an area less than a half-mile east of Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska.

Four Gunshot Victims Found at Scene

According to the statement, officers responded to a report of a shooting involving multiple victims, and the first officers arrived at the scene less than a minute after the shooting was reported. The officers located four wounded people at the scene, including a 20-year-old man with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds. A 21-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and a 27-year-old woman were also transported to the hospital with apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

5 Others Later Arrived at Two Hospitals

Minneapolis police reported that an 18-year-old man later walked into Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, and four other shooting victims arrived at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. One of them, a 21-year-old man, was suffering from potentially life-threatening wounds, while the three other shooting victims, a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man, all had non-life-threatening injuries.

No Arrests Reported

The preliminary investigation indicates the nine people were wounded when gunfire erupted outside the event center following an altercation. The news release says a large crowd was present when the gunfire erupted, and investigators are working to determine whether the shots were fired from a vehicle.

Minneapolis police have not reported any arrests in connection with the shooting.
