Is Minnesota Really A Safe Place to Live?
I feel like this is a common notion that we have about Minnesota: it's a relatively safe place to live and raise a family! There are tons of families here and there isn't nearly as much violence that happens in Minnesota compared to other states.
But is Minnesota REALLY a safe place to live?
In short, yes! According to a WalletHub study, Minnesota is one of the safest states in the U.S.!
In this study, they looked at many different factors to determine what makes a state safe. Each state was ranked based on "Personal and Residential Safety," "Financial Safety," "Road Safety," "Workplace Safety," and "Emergency Preparedness."
To break down the rankings Minnesota received, we were ranked 11th in "Personal and Residential Safety," 7th in "Financial Safety," 1st in "Road Safety" (which I find funny because of how much road construction we always have, but ok!), 2nd in "Workplace Safety," and 22nd in "Emergency Preparedness."
Overall, we ranked the 3rd safest state to live in!
The top 10 safest states to live in are as follows:
Vermont
Maine
Minnesota
Utah
New Hampshire
Connecticut
Rhode Island
Hawaii
Massachusetts
Washington
As for the 10 least safe states (the last state being the least safe out of all of them):
South Carolina
Alaska
Missouri
Alabama
Arkansas
Florida
Texas
Oklahoma
Louisiana
Mississippi
