Incident Involving Replica Gun Results in Rochester Man’s Arrest
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police arrested a 19-year-old man for an alleged probation violation on Monday following reports of a person in a black car pointing a gun at people outside a southeast Rochester apartment complex.
Police Lieutenant Mike Sadauskis says the responding officers did not receive much cooperation from witnesses and initially failed to locate the suspect vehicle when they were sent to the Andover Apartments around 3 pm. The officers eventually spotted 19-year-old Deshaun Pittman parking and exiting a black car in another parking lot at the site.
He denied any involvement in the incident, but the terms of his probation require him to submit to searches, which led to the discovery of a realistic looking airsoft handgun wrapped in a T-shirt in the trunk of his vehicle. Besides the alleged probation violation, police say Pittman is expected to face gross misdemeanor charges involving the replica gun and disorderly conduct.
