If you've worked in the service industry at any point in your life, you put up with a lot - like when customers make bad jokes you've heard a million times already! But at the end of the day, it's all worth it when you get those sweet, fat tips from satisfied customers.

...Or is it?

Thrillist looked at some new data that surveyed people from every state about their tipping habits and weighed that against the state's minimum wage for tipped workers, and the results for Minnesota are looking very...wait for it...nice.

According to the data, Minnesota is the 5th Best State for Tipped Workers. The average tip is about 17.57% versus the minimum wage of $7.87 for tipped workers. That makes sense; I tend to tip anywhere between 15-20% depending on the quality of service, which matches up with the results.

By the way, one of the worst states for tipped workers is Wisconsin, which ranked #4. Wisconsinites tip around 16.18%, but the minimum wage for tipped workers is a paltry $2.33. Ouch.
