Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy Restaurant Sued By Mall of America
My wife and I will binge Guy’s Fieri’s Diners Drive-Ins and Dives show on The Food Network from time to time and have even sought out some of the featured restaurants. Fieri has spotlighted dozens of Minnesota restaurants – you can see the full list below.
The “Mayor of Flavortown” uses his platform to spotlight other restauranteurs but actually owns several restaurants. “Chicken Guy” is one that he founded. It's a chain that specializes in chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders. In 2019 we learned "Chicken Guy" was going to open soon inside the Mall of America. It’s been 3-years and nothings happened.
Mall of America Files Lawsuit for Breach of Contract
Bring Me the News explains the lawsuit was filed earlier this month and “is accusing Chicken Guy of breaching its lease by failing to pay rent, begin any construction, and open by mid-June 2021.”
Fieri isn't named in the lawsuit. Instead, MOA is targeting Earl Enterprises.
According to bizjournals.com, “Mall of America is seeking more than $3 million from Earl to cover Chicken Guy's rent through the end of its lease, plus attorney fees and court costs.”
Construction hasn’t even started and Chicken Guy is already behind nearly 300,000 in past rent.
Guy Fieri Does Has Flavortown Kitchens in Minnesota
Guy Fieri has opened Flavortown Kitchens in St. Paul, Minneapolis, Edin Prairie, and two new locations in Burnsville, and Maple Grove. Now, these aren't your typical restaurants which is unfortunate because I imagine Guy has a ton of memorabilia that could be used to create a really cool atmosphere.
Guy Fieri's "Flavortown Kitchens" are ghost kitchens which means there isn't an actual restaurant to sit in. All orders are delivered. Check out what's on the menu below.

The restaurant's website shows over-the-top menu items (see below) like a giant bacon mac & cheeseburger, cheesesteak egg rolls, jalapeno pig poppers, and cajun chicken alfredo. Customers can also get salads and desserts.
