Guilty Plea Expected in Minnesota Terrorism Case
Minneapolis, MN (Learfield Wire Services) -- Court filings suggest federal prosecutors have reached a plea agreement with a Twin Cities man accused of helping a group of Somali-American men in Minnesota in their efforts to travel to Syria and join the Islamic State Group.
The documents indicate 20-year-old Abdirizak Mohamed Warsame of Eagan is ready to admit to a terrorism-related charge during a court appearance scheduled on Thursday. He would be the fourth of the ten people charged in the case to plead guilty.
The FBI says Warsame previously worked as a baggage handler at the Twin Cities Airport and allegedly bragged that he could smuggle in a rocket to shoot down planes.
