WEST ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered U.S. and Minnesota flags at half-staff in honor of slain Mendota Heights Police Officer Scott Patrick.

The governor's order applies to all state and federal buildings in Minnesota from sunrise to sunset Wednesday when Patrick's funeral will be held.

Visitation for the fallen officer is being held Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in West St. Paul.

Thousands are expected Wednesday for Patrick's funeral. Law enforcement officials are asking the public to line the nearly 8-mile-long funeral procession route.
