A former exotic dancer at the Cruisin' Cubby's Gentlemen's Club in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, is suing her former employer as part of a class-action lawsuit, claiming that she and several other dancers were grossly underpaid.

It would seem that many of the movies that have been made with storylines revolving around exotic dancers make it seem as though it's a glamorous and lucrative profession. This recent legal action would certainly seem to suggest the opposite!

According to an Associated Press story in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, a lawsuit was filed in federal court last week by Teriana Jones, a former exotic dancer at Cruisin' Chubby's, insisting that several of the club’s policies made it so that dancers were not able to earn even minimum wage while employed there. Some of the practices mentioned in the suit include the club requiring dancers to share large amounts of their tips and fees with management, and requiring them to entertain guests outside their regular club duties without remuneration.

Z-Rock reached out to Justin Peterson, an attorney for the La Crosse, Wisconsin-based law firm Moen Sheehan Meyer, Ltd., who is representing Jones in the case, requesting comment, but he has not yet responded to our request.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this case, which originates in a town where many from Rochester like to vacation, plays out. Perhaps it will lead to the formation of an exotic dancer's union? Or at least change the rules on how strippers are compensated...

Speaking of exotic dancing, remember that time we caught video of our web guy twerking? Okay, maybe it isn't so exotic, but you won't be able to un-see it!
