You may have noticed that there’s a bit of a controversy happening in the NFL right now. And no, I’m not talking about the Vikings’ potential quarterback controversy – seriously, Case Keenum? I had no idea you were that good.

There’s been a lot of discussion revolving around Colin Kaepernick, Donald Trump, racial inequality, and whether it’s OK or not to use the national anthem as a platform for protesting an issue. Needless to say, it’s…pretty complicated. Some people are so riled up and offended over the protests that they’ve actually filmed themselves burning their season tickets. No, seriously:

Look, here’s the thing: I have my own beliefs about this issue, and I’m sure you have yours, too. But can we at least agree that burning your season tickets in a fit of rage is kinda sorta objectively dumb? Those tickets cost a lot of money, man! Sell them! According to their website, the cheapest season tickets you can get for the Minnesota Vikings start at $500! You really wouldn’t want to get that back? Such a waste. Unless you’re a Bears fan. Then you can probably go ahead and burn those tickets.

I mean…that seems like a fair compromise, no? Burning your tickets helps no one. So why not just give them to a Minnesota veteran or an underprivileged kid?
