Five Finger Death Punch Issue Statement on Netherlands Concert Blowup
Five Finger Death Punch are passionate group of rockers that on occasion have had fiery confrontations that presented themselves onstage, and such was the case last night in Tilburg in the Netherlands when the band's show ended abruptly and included Ivan Moody proclaiming on mic, "I’ll let you know ahead of time — this is my last show with Five Finger Death Punch" before making a throat-slit motion. But earlier today, it was revealed that Five Finger Death Punch have announced a late 2017 European Arena co-headlining tour with In Flames. So what gives?
The band has issued a statement in which is appears as though all issues have been smoothed over and that the group will continue their current run with Moody in tow. The statement from the band reads as follows:
Those who have followed 5FDP from the beginning can tell you there has always been an element of danger and unpredictability in our music and in our shows. That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll. When you do over 150 shows in a year, you will inevitably have a few derailments, but the train always keeps on moving. Last night in Tilburg was one of those instances, but as they say, you aren’t a race car driver if you don’t wreck a car or two.
We can’t wait to put on amazing shows tomorrow night at Nova Rock all the way to our just announced winter tour all over Europe. See you all on the race track....bring a helmet....
Five Finger Death Punch
Five Finger Death Punch have had dustups on stage a few times over the years, but have continued with pretty much the same lineup for a majority of their tenure. Earlier this year, there was talk of Moody leaving the band to focus on another project, but the singer quickly clarified that it was his intent to do both projects.
Moody was also briefly absent from a few shows last fall after having an onstage meltdown, but the singer had a hand in picking All That Remains' Phil Labonte to help the band complete their shows. Five Finger Death Punch are currently on tour. All of their scheduled 2017 dates can be found here.
