First Ever ‘World Snow Sculpting Championship’ Coming to Stillwater in January
This isn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill, neighborhood snowman. Make plans to head to Stillwater in January to be there for the first-ever World Snow Sculpting Championship competition:
The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce is honored to host the Inaugural World Snow Sculpting Championship competition sanctioned by the Association Internationale de Sculpture sur Neige et Glace based in Finland. Teams from around the world will travel to Stillwater, Minnesota to create amazing snow sculptures while competing for prize money and the title of the World Champion.
This competition will be taking place January 18th - 22nd, from noon - 8 pm each day. Snow carving isn't thing going on that week, there is a whole lineup of events that the whole family can enjoy.
The week leading up to the 18th, you can watch snow and snow blocks being made in Lowell Park, where the carving will be taking place.
There will also be a welcome party for the public to attend, a Chamber of Commerce Mixer celebrating 130 years of the chamber, the "World's Coolest Block Party", "MinneSnowta Nice Day" and so much more. *All events are weather dependant and subject to change, this is Minnesota after all.
