Facebook Posts and Threats Lead to Jail Sentence
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager will spend another three months in jail after pleading guilty to a felony threats charge and another charge for illegally possessing a firearm that was connected to a Facebook post.
In that case, 18-year-old Devontae Wilson was on probation for a previous felony conviction connected to a Facebook post and a threat against an Olmsted County deputy last October when he posted a photo that showed him smoking pot and holding a gun. Because he is a convicted felon, it is illegal for Wilson to possess a firearm.
At his sentencing hearing this week, Wilson was given credit for 90 days he has already spent in the Olmsted County jail and he was given a stayed prison sentence of 60 months, along with 15 years on probation.
