Eden Prairie Man Charged With Stealing A Police Officer’s Puppy
If you have the capacity to break into someone else’s home to steal their possessions, you’re probably not doing too well on the karma scale as it is. But stealing another man’s dog – let alone that of a police officer – that takes a special kind of evil. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending.
On September 30th, an Aberdeen, South Dakota police officer was the victim of a home burglary. Most of the items stolen were electronic devices, but that paled in comparison with the theft of Poppy, Officer Briston Bruce’s 4-month-old puppy. Who does that? I can't imagine how that must have felt.
Luckily, Poppy was recently found by a kind soul in Minneapolis of all places. Even better, this person was somehow able to track down Poppy’s rightful owner thanks to the power of social media. And best of all, that has led to an 18-year-old Eden Prairie man being charged with burglary and other counts. Poppy and Officer Bruce are expected to be reunited this Sunday, with a $500 reward going to the Minneapolis resident who helped save the day.
And the puppy thief's reward? Likely jail time! Don't you just love happy endings?
