Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - Felony assault charges are pending against a Stewartville man in connection with a violent domestic incident last weekend.

Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says the incident allegedly occurred in the early morning of June 14th, but was not reported until Monday afternoon. A 38-year-old woman told investigators she returned to the home she shared with 37-year-old Shaun Sloan in the 400 block of South Mainstreet in Stewartville around 2 AM Sunday and the two got into an argument.

It is alleged that Sloan became angry and pinned the woman facedown on a bed with a knee on her back while demanding that she allow him to use her thumbprint to give him access to her cell phone. The woman told investigators she gave in because she could not breathe. She said Sloan became upset about what he viewed on the phone and began smashing items in the home.

The arrest report also alleges the victim suffered two broken bones in her arm when Sloan smashed it in the doorway as he was leaving the residence. The woman stated that, after he departed, she also left the home to seek medical treatment and contacted the Sheriff's Office on Monday.

Sloan surrendered to the Sheriff's Office last night and is being held on felony assault and domestic assault charges.
