Does The Song That Was #1 on Your 14th Birthday Truly Define You?
If you really pay attention to social media, then the newest trend making its rounds online is actually a pretty cool one if you ask me because apparently the song that was number one on the Billboard charts on your 14th birthday defines your life.
As long as I can remember, I've always loved music (hence the reason I have the awesome career that I do now). I think back to those long road trips out to Seattle when I was a kid to visit my grandparents and begging my mom to put in The Pointer Sisters' cassette tape in the car to help pass the time. Or always having the radio plugged in and blaring from the garage so I could always have music on while I practiced my free throws on the driveway.
Well the theory that went around on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all throughout last week was all you have to do is google number one hits listed on the week of your birthday when you were 14 and then let the laughs commence.
I just googled mine, and I am SO disappointed:
Yep, one of the few forgettable songs by the King of Pop was #1 the week of September 2nd, 1995 (my birthday is the 5th). But it's the songs that are sandwiched between Michael that make it sting even more!
I mean c'mon... I could have had Coolio's "Gansta's Paradise" or even TLC's "Waterfalls" had it hung on for another two weeks?! I don't mind Seal either, so I would have even accepted "Kiss From a Rose" too... Ugh!
What was the #1 song on YOUR 14th birthday, and is it better than mine?
