Hearts are heavy in Southeast Minnesota due to some sad news. Zollman Zoo, located just West of Rochester, Minnesota in Olmsted County, sadly announced that one of its beloved animals has passed away.
Zollman Zoo in Byron, Minnesota Sadly Announced Death of Animal
One of the best places to explore Minnesota is Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo! Kids love it and the zoo has over 30 species of Minnesota native animals including turkeys, bison, bear, skunk, owls, large cats, and many more. Sadly, one of the animals is now leaving a void at the zoo.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zollman Zoo’s thirteen-year-old male wolf. He was humanely euthanized after a growing mass was found behind his eye that protruded into his brain. Thank you to the veterinary staff at Northern Valley Vet Clinic for their outstanding efforts. - Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo Facebook Page
Check out the amazing outdoor classroom at Oxbow Park that your kids will love!
If you've got kids, I highly recommend heading out to let your little ones explore the outdoor classroom that is right next to the parking lot by Zollman Zoo. It is A-Maz-Ing! Tunnels, musical instruments, planets that you have to find, and even a teeter-totter made out of a log is there to enjoy. Probably one of my favorites though is what I call "Little Bean". I snapped a selfie with it and a few photos to give you a glimpse at the exhibits. Check those out below...
